Abstract

This study investigates the antecedents and consequences of eco-friendly practices in the Indian textile sector using an analytical framework based on structural equation modeling. A sample of 230 participants was gathered through convenient sampling via a Google form survey. The study examines five hypotheses related to the influence of environmental factors, circular economy principles, regulatory compliance, Industry 5.0 technologies, and social responsibility initiatives on eco-friendly practices within the industry. The findings reveal significant positive relationships between environmental factors, regulatory norms, Industry 5.0 technologies, social responsibility initiatives, and eco-friendly practices, while circular economy principles showed a statistically insignificant relationship. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of environmental regulations, technological advancements, and social responsibility in driving sustainability within the Indian textile sector. Policymakers and industry stakeholders can leverage these insights to develop targeted strategies and interventions to promote environmental stewardship and foster sustainable development in the industry.
