Abstract

This research paper pertains to "Water Management and Sustainable Development in Alwar District." Alwar is a district located in the northeastern region of Rajasthan, India, nestled amidst the Aravalli hills. Water is a priceless gift of nature upon which all life forms depend. With time, excessive exploitation of water and reduced rainfall have exacerbated the water crisis in the region. As a result of various factors, the per capita availability of potable water is steadily decreasing, increasing pressure on the available water resources. On one hand, the demand for water continues to rise, while on the other, pollution and contamination are rapidly deteriorating the quality of the available water resources. In such conditions, there is an urgent need to implement a practical action plan focused on proper water management and sustainable development to address water supply-related issues effectively.

Abstract in Hindi Language: प्रस्तुत शोध पत्र ’अलवर जिले में जल प्रबंधन एवं पोषणीय विकास’ से सम्बन्धित है। ’अलवर’ भारत देश के राजस्थान राज्य के उत्तर-पूर्व दिशा में अवस्थित एक जिला है, जो अरावली की पहाड़ियों के मध्य में बसा है। जल प्रकृति की अमूल्य देन है जिस पर प्राणी मात्र का अस्तित्व टिका है। वक्त के बदलाव के साथ जल के अत्यधिक दोहन करने एवं वर्षा की कमी से प्रदेश में जल संकट गहराता जा रहा है। विभिन्न कारणों के परिणामस्वरूप प्रति व्यक्ति उपलब्ध पेयजल की मात्रा लगातार घटती जा रही है जिससे उपलब्ध जल संसाधनों पर दबाव बढ़ता जा रहा है। एक ओर जल की मांग लगातार बढ़ रही है वहीं दूसरी ओर प्रदूषण और मिलावट के कारण उपलब्ध जल संसाधन की गुणवत्ता में तेजी से गिरावट आ रही है ऐसी परिस्थितियों में जलापूर्ति संबंधी समस्या के समाधान करने हेतु समुचित जल प्रबंधन एवं सतत विकास पर व्यावहारिक कार्य योजना लागू करने की नितांत आवश्यकता है।
