Abstract

India is making progress toward holistic development, and digitalization has emerged as a revolutionary force that is shaping this path. Launched in 2015, the Indian Government’s Digital India program has been a driving influence behind the promotion of digital connectivity, the enhancement of public service delivery, and the promotion of economic growth. The program's objective is to accomplish the creation of a society and knowledge economy that are digitally empowered through the integration of technology across a variety of sectors, including governance, education, healthcare, and commerce. In this study, the influence of digitalization on India's socio-economic fabric is investigated. Particular attention is paid to the role that digitalization plays in bridging the gap between metropolitan and countryside areas, improving financial inclusion through the role of digital payment systems, and making e-governance possible. Even if digitization has made it possible for innovation and inclusivity to flourish, there are still obstacles to overcome, such as the digital gap, the risks associated with cybersecurity, and the constraints of infrastructure. This research highlights the significance of sustainable digital practices and robust policies in order to maximize the benefits of digital transformation, which will ultimately contribute to India's aim of being a global leader in digital technology.
