Abstract

Globalization and the availability of the internet, which have linked millions of people in trade and business across geographic distances, are partially to blame for the intricate interplay between supply and demand. A disruption in the supply chain affects several corporate organizations due to its interdependence. The supply chain networks faced other difficulties than the COVID-19 epidemic. Rather, it intensified and made the already-existing problems worse, which caused the sector to face a disruption in product delivery that led to the closure of certain businesses. The future appears bright, with substantial improvements and potential in policy reforms, big data analytics, and intelligent logistics, notwithstanding the difficulties encountered both before and during the epidemic. Leaders may use prescriptive analytics to improve the lessons learned during the epidemic and aid in decision-making when faced with similar problems in the future. To put it briefly, the extent of COVID-19's impact on SCM is without a doubt the biggest source of information that will influence discussions about policy change and redefine global cooperation in R&D, as was the case during the production of the COVID-19 vaccines. The current study suggests that more research be done to determine the true magnitude of the COVID-19 influence on SCM.
