Abstract

In the rapidly evolving banking sector, digital transformation is no longer an option but a necessity for survival and competitiveness. Bank mergers are often driven by the need for cost-efficiency, expanded market reach, and technological innovation. However, the success of a merger largely depends on the integration of digital technologies to streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and ensure regulatory compliance. This paper explores the role of digital transformation in bank mergers, with a special focus on the merger of Bank of Baroda (BOB), Vijaya Bank, and Dena Bank. The study highlights the strategic role of digitalization in overcoming integration challenges, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction. By examining the digital transformation efforts of Bank of Baroda post-merger, this paper provides insights into how banks can leverage technology to navigate the complexities of mergers and position themselves for future success.
