The term "culture" is often used to describe the deeply embedded patterns of beliefs, values, and symbolic systems that shape the behaviour of organizations. These cultural elements are typically passed down through generations, shaping the collective mind set and enabling members of different groups to distinguish themselves from one another. This includes commonly accepted customs, traditions, and ideologies. The central aim of this research is to explore various forms of organizational culture and examine their influence on employee effectiveness in the context of private universities. The findings suggest that hierarchy-based cultures are more prevalent in public universities, while private institutions tend to embrace clan-oriented cultures. Public universities, being government-funded, often operate through rigid bureaucratic structures and stable leadership focused on procedural efficiency. In contrast, private universities are evolving into more employee-friendly work places, placing a strong emphasis on professional development, mentorship, and participatory practices that build mutual trust. The study underscores the need for private university administrations to develop organizational cultures that are both pragmatic and aligned with institutional objectives. To achieve the shared vision, it is essential for both leaders and team members to think and act in ways that reflect their commitment to the organization’s goals.
