Background: Research indicates that individuals with type-2 diabetes mellitus often have insufficient knowledge about hypoglycemia. Therefore, this study was undertaken to determine the impact of a structured educational intervention on improving patient awareness regarding hypoglycemia and to assess its overall effectiveness and outcomes. Materials and methods: The study has adopted quasi-experimental research design. 50 Type-2 diabetes adult patients from Apollo Hospitals Bilaspur were selected using Non probability purposive sampling method. The data was collected using knowledge questionnaire which had two sessions: A is demographic variables, B is knowledge questionnaire. Result: Findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in knowledge scores following the structured teaching program. The post-test mean score (5.39, df = 49) exceeded the critical value (t = 2.02 at p < 0.05), indicating a meaningful increase in patient knowledge after the intervention. Conclusion: The study identified that there is a knowledge deficiency among patients with diabetes mellitus and educating the patients will improve better self-care of themselves. Our diabetic educator regularly educates all the diabetes mellitus patients to improve their quality of life and home care management.
