Abstract

We are living in a world with profound technological advancements and facilities but still we are not satisfied with our life. The science and technology have created a lot of opportunities and facilities to us but at the same time it has also created a lot of challenges and stress to our daily living. Despite these achievements we are constantly struggling for inner peace, freedom and happiness and this stressful inner state also reflects as chaos and conflict in outer world. J. Krishnamurti, one of the greatest thinkers of all time, explores the fundamental problems of human life at its root level and provides us valuable insights to solve these problems. He points out that human problems are very  complex .These problems are not such problems that can be understood by some formulas ,ideas or  specialists .These problems can be understood and solved only when we are aware of ourselves as a total  process ,when we aware of our whole psychological  make-up .Thus according  to J. Krishnamurti self-knowledge is the key for ending our all life miseries such as conflict , division ,fear and all sufferings which are otherwise  inevitable .In the present paper I have tried to explore the insights of J. Krishnamurti on self-knowledge and its significance for life.
