Pakhawaj is an original and traditional musical instrument of India. From ancient time we find different Gharanas of Pakhawaj and those Gharanas had their own importance in the musical field. Now-a-days, those Gharanas are going to be obsolete in lack of proper preservation. I wish to find the chief characteristics of playing styles along with the Bols of different Pakhawaj Gharanas of India. But, before entering into my actual research project as stated above, it is necessary to discuss in short about the Origin and Development of Pakhawaj from ancient to modern times. I have collected informations with regard to the Origin and Development of Pakhawaj instrument. For this purpose.
