The RESEARCH REVIEW International Journal of Multidisciplinary is committed to maintaining transparency, integrity, and objectivity in all aspects of the scholarly publishing process. All participants—authors, reviewers, and editors—are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their work, evaluations, or editorial decisions.
For Authors
Disclosure Requirement:
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, academic, or professional relationships that may be perceived to influence the research or its interpretation. Such disclosures may include, but are not limited to:
- Funding sources
- Employment or consultancies
- Stock ownership or equity interests
- Paid expert testimony
- Patent applications or registrations
- Personal or professional relationships with individuals, institutions, or organizations
How to Disclose:
All disclosures must be clearly stated in a dedicated section titled “Conflict of Interest” within the manuscript prior to submission. If no conflicts exist, authors should include the statement:
“The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
For Reviewers
Impartiality and Recusal:
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in cases where:
- A personal or professional relationship exists with the author(s)
- There is a direct competitive or collaborative association
- A financial or intellectual interest could compromise objectivity
Disclosure Obligation:
Reviewers are expected to promptly inform the editorial team of any actual or perceived conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
For Editors
Fair and Unbiased Decision-Making:
Editors must ensure that all editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit. They are required to:
- Refrain from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists
- Disclose any relevant financial or personal interests
- Delegate editorial responsibilities to another qualified editor when necessary
Editorial Integrity:
Editors are responsible for maintaining a fair, impartial, and transparent review and publication process at all times.
Management of Conflicts
All disclosed conflicts of interest are carefully evaluated by the editorial team. Where appropriate, measures may include:
- Publishing the disclosure alongside the article
- Reassigning editors or reviewers
- Rejecting or withdrawing a manuscript if ethical standards are compromised
Responsibility and Enforcement
Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may result in:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction of a published article
- Notification to the author’s affiliated institution or relevant authority
The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling conflict of interest cases.
