Plagiarism Policy
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the presentation of another person's ideas, words, data, or creative expressions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, figures, tables, or illustrations without proper citation
- Reusing one's own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without disclosure
- Using content from online sources without proper attribution
Types of Plagiarism
- Direct Plagiarism: Verbatim copying of content without quotation marks or citation
- Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one's own earlier work without proper referencing
- Mosaic Plagiarism: Piecing together content from multiple sources without adequate credit
- Accidental Plagiarism: Unintentional failure to cite sources or improper paraphrasing
Detection and Prevention Measures
Pre-Publication Screening:
All submitted manuscripts are screened using licensed plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or equivalent tools. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold as per UGC regulations will be returned to authors for correction or may be rejected.
During Peer Review:
Editors and reviewers remain vigilant for potential ethical concerns and may flag suspected plagiarism for further investigation.
Post-Publication Actions:
If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
- Retraction of the published article
- Issuance of a correction or expression of concern
- Notification to the author's institution or funding agency
- Labeling the article with a plagiarism notice
Reporting Plagiarism
Any suspected cases of plagiarism may be reported to the editorial office at:

Author Responsibilities
Authors are expected to:
- Ensure the originality of their work and properly cite all sources
- Disclose any reuse of previously published content with appropriate references
- Avoid submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Use of AI Tools in Manuscript Preparation
Authors may use AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, language editors) strictly as supportive aids for language improvement, formatting, or structural suggestions, subject to the following conditions:
Transparency and Disclosure
The use of AI tools must be clearly disclosed in the Acknowledgement or Methods section. Authors must specify which tools were used and for what purpose (e.g., grammar correction, language refinement).
Authorship and Accountability
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all manuscript content, including any AI-assisted sections.
Originality and Verification
AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not contain plagiarized or fabricated material. Authors must carefully review, verify, and fact-check all AI-assisted outputs prior to submission.
Ethical Use of AI
AI tools should assist—not replace—critical thinking, intellectual contribution, data analysis, or interpretation. The core scholarly contribution, research design, analysis, and conclusions must originate from the authors.
Commitment to Academic Integrity
By adhering to this Plagiarism & AI Policy, RESEARCH REVIEW International Journal of Multidisciplinary reaffirms its commitment to publishing original, ethical, transparent, and high-quality research. All stakeholders—authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers—are expected to uphold these principles in the scholarly communication process.
