Learning a Language using Grammar Translation Method

This paper presents the methods used for learning a language. Here, we specifically talk about Grammar Translation Method which is a long-established way of learning a language. The paper tries to analyze the effectiveness of this method of learning and to evaluate its conduciveness for teaching. It further shows us “how a student actually learns a language using Grammar-Translation method”. The paper tries to evaluate to what extent this method of learning the language is adequate for the learners. This paper attempts to discuss the role of a teacher and other factors like syllabus, teaching environment, study materials etc. in the learning process.
