Abstract

In this research paper, we explore the Cereal Crop Disease Resistance and Climate Change: A Banaskantha District, Gujarat Study, focusing on the interplay between climatic factors and disease incidence. Analyzing data from 2010 to 2023, the study reveals significant correlations between rising temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, and increased vulnerability to diseases in key crops such as wheat, maize, and pearl millet. The findings indicate that even a 2°C increase in temperature can lead to a 10-12% rise in disease incidence, severely affecting overall crop yields and threatening food security. This research emphasizes the urgent need for adaptive strategies, including the development of disease-resistant crop varieties and sustainable agricultural practices. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of farmer education and advanced weather forecasting tools to enhance disease management. By proactively addressing these challenges, the agricultural sector in Banaskantha can bolster its resilience and ensure sustainable production in the face of climate change.
