This paper explores the significant contributions of Vijay Singh Pathik to Mahatma Gandhi's national movement. Pathik’s leadership in mass movements and awakening public consciousness provided new momentum and dimensions to the freedom struggle. Influenced by Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence, and love, Pathik also integrated revolutionary ideas, balancing radical and moderate approaches. He actively mobilized students, teachers, and peasants, strengthening grassroots participation. Despite his dedication, Pathik faced challenges, including differences with Gandhi over the role of capitalists and political marginalization after independence. His literary works further propagated Gandhian philosophy among the masses. Although not fully recognized in his lifetime, Pathik’s role as a pioneer of public awakening and his influence on Rajasthan’s political landscape remain invaluable. This study highlights Pathik’s dual role as a revolutionary and a Gandhian, whose efforts enriched India’s struggle for independence.
Abstract in Hindi Language: यह शोध पत्र विजय सिंह पथिक के महात्मा गाँधी के राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन में योगदान को प्रस्तुत करता है। पथिक द्वारा संचालित जन आन्दोलन और जन जागृति ने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम को नई दिशा और ऊर्जा प्रदान की। सत्य, अहिंसा और प्रेम के गाँधीवादी आदर्शों से प्रेरित पथिक ने क्रान्तिकारी और उदारवादी विचारधाराओं का समन्वय किया। उन्होंने छात्रों, शिक्षकों और किसानों को सक्रिय कर आंदोलन को जमीनी स्तर पर मजबूत किया। स्वतंत्रता के बाद राजनीतिक क्षेत्र में चुनौतियों का सामना करने के बावजूद, उनके साहित्य ने गाँधीवादी विचारों को जन-जन तक पहुँचाया। पथिक के जीवनकाल में उनकी योग्यता पूरी तरह मान्यता न मिलने के बावजूद, वे राजस्थान के जन-जागरण और राजनीतिक परिदृश्य के अग्रदूत रहे। यह अध्ययन पथिक की दोहरी भूमिका—क्रांतिकारी और गाँधीवादी—को उजागर करता है, जिसने भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम को समृद्ध किया।
