Abstract

The study investigated the levels of Sustainability Consciousness among high school students. This Quantitative research majorly focused on dimensions of Consciousness (Knowledge, Attitude, and Behaviour) and Sustainability (Environmental, Social, and Economic). A convenient sampling technique was established and data were collected using Sustainability Consciousness Scale. Descriptive statistics and Correlation Analysis were employed for analysing the relationship among consciousness dimensions. Findings indicated overall moderate sustainability consciousness among High school students with a greater association among consciousness dimensions. The moderate and inconsistent levels of Sustainability Consciousness among high school students is stressing as Indian educational policies have been advocating for integration of Sustainability since NPE 1986. Hence, the study highlights the need for strengthening education for sustainable development (ESD) in school education.
