Yoga Nidra and Academic Performance: A Descriptive Literature Review

In the present time, students are facing increasing academic competition, examination-related pressure, and mental stress, which adversely affect their academic performance. Yoga Nidra is an effective relaxation technique of Yoga that is considered helpful in strengthening mental balance and psychological health. The present study is based on a descriptive literature review, with the objective of analyzing the relationship between Yoga Nidra and academic performance. For this study, research papers, books, and review articles published from 2010 to 2025 were examined. The available literature revealed that Yoga Nidra is helpful in reducing stress and anxiety and in developing concentration, memory, cognitive ability, and emotional balance. All these factors positively influence the academic performance of students.
Abstract in Hindi Language: वर्तमान समय में विद्यार्थियों को बढ़ती शैक्षणिक प्रतिस्पर्धा, परीक्षा संबंधी दबाव तथा मानसिक तनाव का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जिससे उनके शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ता है। योग निद्रा योग की एक प्रभावी विश्राम तकनीक है, जो मानसिक संतुलन एवं मनोवैज्ञानिक स्वास्थ्य को सुदृढ़ करने में सहायक मानी जाती है। प्रस्तुत अध्ययन एक वर्णनात्मक साहित्य समीक्षा पर आधारित है, जिसका उद्देश्य योग निद्रा एवं शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन के मध्य संबंध का विश्लेषण करना है। अध्ययन हेतु वर्ष 2010 से 2025 तक प्रकाशित शोध-पत्रों, पुस्तकों एवं समीक्षा लेखों का अध्ययन किया गया। उपलब्ध साहित्य से ज्ञात हुआ कि योग निद्रा तनाव एवं चिंता को कम करने तथा एकाग्रता, स्मृति, संज्ञानात्मक क्षमता एवं भावनात्मक संतुलन को विकसित करने में सहायक है। ये सभी कारक विद्यार्थियों के शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन को सकारात्मक रूप से प्रभावित करते हैं।
