A study of the relationship between aggression and psychological self-satisfaction in adult domestic and working women with reference to Bhagalpur district

Abstract

The present study was conducted in Bhagalpur city to explore the relationship between aggression and life-satisfaction in adult domestic and working women. For the study, out of 60 adult women in the age group of 35 to 65 years, 30 domestic and 30 working adult urban women were selected. Data Collection M.K. A standardized questionnaire called Aggression Inventory translated into Hindi by Sultania was used. There are 67 questions with 52 positive questions and 15 negative questions with sub-categories divided into 8 parts - assault, direct aggression, irritability, negativity, resentment, suspicion, verbal aggression and guilt. The scale administered by Dr. Sisodia and Chaudhary (2012) was used for psychological self-satisfaction. The data were analyzed using the t-ratio of the descriptive statistical method. It consists of 50 questions divided into 6 parts with sub-categories - satisfaction, competence, sociability, mental health and interpersonal behavior. All the questions in the scale are positive and there are no negative questions. The findings suggest that there is a significant positive correlation in aggression and life satisfaction among adult women, whereas there was a non-significant negative correlation in aggression and life satisfaction among late middle-aged women.

प्रस्तुत अध्ययन वयस्क घरेलू और कामकाजी महिलाओं में आक्रामकता और जीवन-संतुष्टि के बीच संबंधों का पता लगाने के लिए भागलपुर शहर में किया गया है। अध्ययन के लिए 35 वर्ष से 65 वर्ष के आयु वर्ग के 60 वयस्क महिलाओं मे से 30 घरेलू और 30 कामकाजी वयस्क शहरी महिलाओं को चुना गया था। आंकड़ा संग्रह एम. के. सुल्तानिया द्वारा हिन्दी अनुवादित एग्रेसन इन्वेंटरी नामक मानकीकृत प्रश्नावली का उपयोग किया गया था। 8 भागों में विभाजित उप-श्रेणियों - हमला, प्रत्यक्ष आक्रामकता, चिड़चिड़ापन, नकारात्मकता, आक्रोश, संदेह, मौखिक आक्रामकता और अपराधबोध के साथ 67 प्रश्न हैं जिसमें 52 सकारात्मक प्रश्न तथा 15 नाकारात्मक प्रश्न हैं। मनोवैज्ञानिक आत्म संतुष्टि के लिए डॉ. सिसोदिया और चैधरी (2012) द्वारा प्रशासित मापनी का उपयोग किया गया था। आकड़ों का विश्लेषण वर्णनात्मक सांख्यिकीय पद्धति का टी-अनुपात उपयोग करके किया गया था। इसमें 6 भागों में विभाजित उप-श्रेणियों - संतुष्टि, योग्यता, सामाजिकता, मानसिक स्वास्थ्य और अन्तःव्यक्तित्व व्यवहार के साथ 50 प्रश्न हैं। पैमाने में सभी प्रश्न सकारात्मक हैं और कोई नकारात्मक प्रश्न नहीं है। निष्कर्षों से पता चलता है कि वयस्क महिलाओं में आक्रामकता और जीवन संतुष्टि में एक महत्वपूर्ण सकारात्मक सह-संबंध है, जबकि देर से मध्यम आयु वर्ग की महिलाओं के बीच आक्रामकता और जीवन संतुष्टि में गैर-महत्वपूर्ण नकारात्मक सहसंबंध था।
