Abstract

The Vedic verses, “Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Shakti Rupena Samsthita, Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah”, invoke and honor feminine power. When we reflect on folk literature, history, and dialogues of women’s awakening, it becomes evident that feminine power has indeed been recognized. Women themselves embody the manifestation of this divine energy. However, in many rural areas of India, there is still a lack of education and personal development opportunities for women. Traditional practices, customs, and religious narratives have influenced societal norms, home environments, self-respect, and confidence. The 20th century witnessed a transformation in women’s status: women began to participate equally in education, politics, professions, arts, law, medicine, and even the military. In the field of space research, for example, Kalpana Chawla stands out as a woman pioneer. In the 21st century, women assertively express their opinions regarding marriage and other social matters. Societal rules, customs, and beliefs have gradually evolved to reflect these changes.

“યા દેવી સર્વભૂતેષુ શક્તિ રૂપેણ સંસ્થિતા, નમસ્તસ્યૈ નમસ્તસ્યૈ નમસ્તસ્યૈ નમો નમ:”

સ્ત્રી શક્તિને આહ્વાન આપતી વેદોની રુચા સંભાળીએ, લોકસાહિત્ય અને ઇતિહાસની વાતો સાંભળીએ, મહિલા જાગૃતિના પરિસંવાદો સંભાળીએ ત્યારે મનમાં વિચાર આવવા લાગે કે સ્ત્રી શક્તિનો ખરેખર સ્વીકાર થયો છે.સ્ત્રી પોતે એક શક્તિના નમઃરૂપમાં ઉભરી છે. હજુ પણ ભારતના મોટાભાગના ગામડાની પ્રજામાં શિક્ષણ અને મહિલા વ્યક્તિત્વ વિકાસનો અભાવ દેખાય છે. આપણી શિક્ષણ પ્રથા, આપના રૂઢી અને રીવાજો આપણે ઊભા કરેલા સભ્યતા અને સંસ્કારના ખ્યાલો કે ધાર્મિક કથાઓ જવાબદાર છે. ઘરના વાતાવરણની, આત્મગૌરવની અને નિર્ભયતાની. 20 મી સદીમાં સ્ત્રીઓની સ્થિતિ બદલાઈ ચુકી છે. સ્ત્રી પુરુષ સમોવડી બનીને શિક્ષણ, રાજકારણ, વ્યવસાય, કળા, વકીલ, ડોકટર અને લશ્કરમાં પણ જોડાવા લાગી છે. અવકાશ સંશોધનને ક્ષેત્રે જોઈએ તો કલ્પના ચાવલા પણ એક સ્ત્રી જ છે. 21 મી સદીમાં સ્ત્રી લગ્નની બાબતમાં હિંમતભેર અને મોઢામોઢ અભિપ્રાય આપતી થઈ છે. નિયમો, રૂઢિઓ અને માન્યતાઓમાં પરિવર્તન આવ્યું છે.
