Evaluation of Women’s Participation in the Indian Economy

In this study I analyzed about Women’s participation in the Indian economy has evolved progressively in response to structural economic changes, social transformation, and policy interventions over different aspect of development. In the early stages, women’s economic roles were largely confined to household activities and informal employment, leading to their limited representation in organized economic sectors. Day by day, improvements in employment opportunities and increased institutional support have contributed to a broader engagement of women across business, agriculture, political, private sectors. This study examines the evolution of women’s contribution in the Indian economy by tracing changes in employment patterns, entrepreneurial involvement, and their growing existence in decision making processes. The study relies on secondary data obtained from government reports, national level surveys, and existing scholarly literature. The analysis indicates that while women have made measurable progress in areas such as self-employment, services and professional occupations and as taxpayer for growing economy, their overall participation remains constrained by resolution challenges including low labor force participation rates, wage disparities, and socio cultural barriers. The paper come to end, for the progressive development of women in business & service sector Agriculture sector, political and overall economy, it is Necessity gender sensitive institutional frameworks with that also Government incentive and support schemes and a conducive changing society are essential for strengthening women’s economic participation and ensuring inclusive and balanced, sustainable economic growth in India.
