Abstract

Biodiversity refers to the variety of living organisms and their interactions. Over time, biodiversity changes due to species extinction and the evolution of new species. Scientifically, biodiversity encompasses species diversity, genetic diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Humans depend on biodiversity for ecological life support because it ensures functional ecosystems. These ecosystems provide essential services such as oxygen, clean air and water, pest management, and wastewater treatment. Thus, preserving biodiversity is crucial for sustaining life on Earth. This study aims to explore the types of biodiversity, conservation methods, and strategies to safeguard it.

Abstract in Hindi Language: जैव विविधता जीवित चीजों और उनकी अन्तःक्रियाओं की विविधता है। विलुप्त होने और नई प्रजातियों के विकसित होने के साथ-साथ जैव विविधता में समय के साथ बदलाव आता है। वैज्ञानिक विविधता प्रजाति, आनुवांशिक और पारिस्थितिक तंत्र की विविधता है। मनुष्य को पारिस्थितिक जीवन समर्थन के लिए जैव विविधता की आवश्यकता होती है। क्योंकि जैव विविधता कार्यात्मक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र सुनिश्चित करती है जो ओक्सीजन, स्वच्छ हवा और पानी, पौधे और कीट प्रबंधन, अपशिष्ट जल उपचार इत्यादि पारितंत्र को विकसित करती है। अतः पृथ्वी पर मानव जीवन व इसके संरक्षण के लिए जैव विविधता का संरक्षण जरूरी है। जैव विविधता के प्रकारों, इसके संरक्षण के उपायों तथा विधियों का वर्णन इत्यादि के बारे में समझने का प्रयास करेंगे।
